BB :: Nakama Ga Iru

Sooooo.

I would've posted my character redesigns from an 'old' comic back in college, but then I remembered I was tasked with the August ID for the #BeybladeOCsclub. So I worked on this first.

The basic premise of the pic is this: a new threat arises in the Beyblade world - feel free to fill in the blanks with what this would be! I sure didn't think about it - and, rather than focus on those 'established' bladers (the canons, basically), the attention is on the rest of the blading population (the OCs).

I wanted to show how they're all bonded together, like the canons are/were. I wanted to include more, especially those I hadn't drawn before, but there wasn't any space and the composition may just have been thrown off. _{I swear I will draw Katou and Emily [Valkov] one of these days}

This is my first time drawing Kayla, so I hope I haven't messed her up OTL

I was listening to soooo many songs while drawing this, to get the 'right' tone/mood. Really inspiring were the songs from Sakura Taisen, especially Stand Up and this song where Kai sings the main part. _{Okay, actually, it's his seiyuu, but still XD}

That background took me like...okay I actually forgot how long it took, but it didn't take too long o_O;
