BeyFanta : Ninja vs Rogue

<sub>"Surrender the scroll, or I take it from you," Kai had warned just minutes earlier, when he'd confronted the dark-haired female. He was looking for a specific scroll, lost to his clan - the Suzaku - when he was a much younger ninja, still in training. Since leaving the clan to find the scroll, he'd had no clues to its whereabouts. Until now.  He didn't know if the scroll this...rogue held was the same one he sought, but Kai wasn't about to take any chances.

"What scroll?" Deep purple eyes glared defiance at him, though he caught a flicker of something else - was it fear? - behind the hard stone of her will. " Instead of answering, Kai darted behind her, then stepped before her again, the rolled parchment that had dangled at her hip now joining its fellows at his belt. He saw a flash of anger, felt the rush of her passage, then her footsteps running away from him. He didn't have to count the scrolls still on his person to know this young woman had taken the newly-acquired 'prize' right back, so to speak.

He followed, knives flying towards him; he caught several to add to his inventory or else fling right back at his target. One knife passed close enough to cut his tunic, but so sharp were the weapons that it took a while for the sting to set in. A part of him was in awe at her abilities, but the fact remained that she'd injured him. 

Ahead of him, the young woman turned in mid-air, flinging a few more throwing knives at him. He pushed off from a nearby tree trunk, loosing one scroll as he turned as well, activating the scroll as it unfurled. There was warmth at his hand as the incantation took effect, and the fire he summoned, twisted through the air, forming something like a spear of flames aimed at his target. At the same time, he caught the faint glow of a fiery aura as the other readied weapons imbued with magic. 

You want to do this the hard way? Fine.</sub>



This is how Kai and Kei meet in the BeyFantasy universe, apparently.

That's how I imagine Kai's Flame Saber skill would look, while Kei's using her Kitsune-bi skill - which is teeny compared to Flame Saber
